The UK High Court has allowed Chinese claimants in the Qian Zhimin case to appeal a ruling on which law applies to an ownership dispute involving more than 60,000 Bitcoin, according to a Caixin report cited by BlockBeats.
Appeal concerns the choice of law
About 16,000 Chinese claimants involved in the UK recovery effort received an opportunity to continue challenging the earlier ruling. After another High Court hearing, a judge approved an appeal of the Oct. 12 decision on the applicable law.

Lawyers also discussed legal costs from the choice-of-law dispute and whether individual applicants would continue the recovery effort or withdraw. Permission to appeal does not decide the ownership dispute on its merits, confirm any transfer of Bitcoin, or establish that assets have been recovered.
