Google Urges PHP Users on Cloud to Upgrade After Security Warning

Google said customers running PHP on Google Cloud should upgrade to PHP 8.2 or later and redeploy services with patched images, according to a BlockBeats report.

Cloud platform and customer risk distinguished

Google said it was rolling out updated serverless base images for supported PHP versions. It said Google Cloud itself was not vulnerable, but users running PHP on the platform could face risk, and it urged them to use patched versions when redeploying.

Google also said Gemini 4 ARGON contributed to vulnerability discovery, exploit development, attack detection and patch validation. The flash did not identify a CVE, the affected PHP versions, an attack scope or an independent Google advisory, so those details cannot be inferred from this report.
