OpenAI Reportedly Seeks Up to $30 Billion at $1.25 Trillion Valuation

OpenAI is reportedly seeking up to $30 billion at a $1.25 trillion pre-money valuation in a potential bridge round ahead of an initial public offering, CNBC reported in a BlockBeats item on Oct. 22.

Financing plans remain provisional

People familiar with the matter said investors from the United Arab Emirates and Coatue were expected to lead the round. OpenAI reportedly told investors it aimed to sign agreements by the end of the following week, while the final size remained under discussion.

The financing was described as an opportunistic bridge ahead of a possible IPO. CFO Sarah Friar reportedly told employees that OpenAI could list in 2027. The valuation, investor participation, timetable and IPO possibility were attributed to CNBC sources and were not confirmed by OpenAI in the flash.
