Bitcoin Core Changes Disclosure Policy for Bugs Found With AI

Faster handling of easily rediscovered flaws

Bitcoin Core maintainers have merged a security policy change intended to speed up fixes and disclosure for vulnerabilities that AI tools can rediscover using simple prompts, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 23.

The report said earlier rules scheduled disclosure by severity, with medium- and high-severity flaws kept confidential until two weeks after the last affected version lost support. Maintainers cautioned that faster handling of easily rediscovered bugs may mean less testing before updates reach users.
