SK Hynix Says Memory Shortage Could Persist Through 2030

SK Hynix said third-quarter DRAM average selling prices rose more than 20% from the previous quarter, according to a BlockBeats report.

Demand and capacity outlook

The report said SK Hynix expects 2027 DRAM demand to grow more than 20% year over year and 2027 capital expenditure to rise significantly from 2026. Long-term supply agreements for 2027 and 2028 reportedly cover more than half of total capacity, while memory shortages could persist through 2030.

SK Hynix also expects 2027 NAND demand to grow at the high end of the teens percentage range. These projections are attributed to BlockBeats’ account of company statements and were not independently verified in the flash. Read the English BlockBeats flash (original Chinese: BlockBeats flash).
