Strategy says its balance sheet could support up to $30 billion in digital credit, while preferred-stock offerings are expected to remain the company’s main route for funding additional Bitcoin purchases.
Preferred stock is the proposed funding route
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor made the financing comments during Strategy’s third-quarter earnings call. He said the company could create $10 billion, $20 billion or $30 billion in digital credit without issuing more common stock or depending on a higher Bitcoin price. CEO Phong Le said a possible $1 billion to $2 billion STRC preferred-stock raise within a month could place some proceeds in dollar reserves and use the remainder to buy Bitcoin.
Capacity is not a fundraising target
Strategy reported $19.53 billion in third-quarter net income, driven largely by a $20.91 billion increase in the value of its digital assets. Its holdings reached 848,517 BTC as of Oct. 25, up 26% year to date. The $30 billion figure describes potential financing capacity, not an announced capital-raising target. The company also said CFO Andrew Kang plans to step down on Nov. 5; Phong Le will oversee finance until Reza Virasteh is expected to take over on Jan. 1, 2027.
