Binance said it has reserved more than $6.34 billion in company funds to cover losses from the security incident, with $5 billion already held in the exact token assets affected.
Token matching and recovery
In an update, Binance said it is buying the remaining token assets through market and over-the-counter channels to match the outstanding shortfall. It said low liquidity and OTC settlement can slow the process. The figures exclude frozen or protected assets, and Binance said roughly $3 billion has been frozen with help from industry partners while recovery efforts continue.
Proof-of-reserves update
Binance said the company will use its resources to cover confirmed shortfalls and provide verified updates as recovery progresses. Its post said all user funds will ultimately be verified publicly through a proof-of-reserves process. These are Binance’s statements about an ongoing recovery effort; they do not establish that every asset has already been recovered.
