Anthropic said updated Claude usage rules will take effect Nov. 12, restricting unauthorized resale of access and tools that disguise third-party clients, according to Beating AI and BlockBeats.
Resale and proxy restrictions
The revised “No Platform Abuse” section prohibits unauthorized resale, proxying or other third-party provision of Claude access. It specifically addresses services that package Claude Pro or Max subscription quotas into paid third-party APIs.
Client identity rules
The policy also bars third-party tools from making requests appear to come from an official Claude client to bypass access restrictions. The changes target relay services that rely on consumer subscription quotas; the report does not describe enforcement actions or changes to individual subscription terms.
