Jeff Currie Says Crude Traders May Be Due to Take Short-Term Profits

Jeff Currie, founder and chief executive of Real Macro and a former energy strategist, said crude oil’s rapid gains may have brought the market to a point where investors should consider taking short-term profits, according to a BlockBeats report.

Long-term view remains constructive

Currie has not abandoned his longer-term energy thesis. The report says he still sees a structural energy supercycle driven by deglobalization, electrification and currency debasement, with opportunities shifting from crude itself toward energy infrastructure and supply-chain resilience.

What the snapshot shows

BlockBeats said Brent crude was up about 75% year to date and referred to spot crude and near-term futures as “prompt oil.” These are figures and views attributed to Currie in the report, not an independent price forecast or a recommendation to trade.
