A preliminary CNN national exit poll found broad dissatisfaction with the country’s direction and President Donald Trump’s performance, including among some voters who backed him in 2024, BlockBeats reported.
Trump approval and economic views
About six in 10 voters said they disapproved of Trump’s job performance, with roughly half strongly disapproving. About one-fifth of 2024 Trump voters also said they now disapproved of his performance.
Cost of living dominates
About two-thirds of voters said Trump had worsened the U.S. economic situation, while roughly three-quarters described the economy as poor. About nine in 10 called the cost of living a key or major factor in their vote. The figures are preliminary polling results, not certified election results.
