Democrats Sweep Six of Seven U.S. Swing States as Alaska Remains Unresolved

Democrats swept six of the seven U.S. swing states in the midterm elections, including Texas and Kansas, where Democratic senators have not been elected in decades, BlockBeats reported on Nov. 4.

Alaska remains unresolved

The six states were Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Iowa, Maine and Michigan. Democrats also flipped North Carolina and South Carolina, bringing the reported total to seven Republican-leaning seats.

BlockBeats said Democrats were expected to hold 54 Senate seats. Alaska, the remaining swing state, was unresolved because of a controversy involving candidates with the same name.

The report described the 54-seat figure as an expectation and did not provide vote totals or certification details.
