Bitget Greater China head Xie Jiayin said hackers accessed data from PingCAP’s TiDB Cloud, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 20. Bitget and Baidu had worked with the service provider, according to the flash.
What Bitget said it stored
Xie said Bitget had stored only some public trade-log data on TiDB Cloud and stopped using the service more than two months ago. He described public trade data as information visible to all users in the trading channel.
Disclosure remains attributed
Xie said the incident did not involve user data or expose passwords and other sensitive information. BlockBeats attributed those statements to his disclosure and did not provide independent forensic findings.
