BlockBeats said MX briefly fell about 15% after MEXC announced that it would stop serving users in Russia and Belarus, as Russian traffic shares vary sharply across major crypto exchanges.
Traffic shares
TradingBeats data cited by the flash showed Russia as the largest traffic source for Bybit, HTX and MEXC, with shares of 23.94%, 13.76% and 10.53%, respectively. Russian traffic accounted for 1.54% of Binance traffic, ranked third from the bottom in the comparison. Coinbase and Kraken had the smallest shares at 0.24% and 0.16%.
Russian market indicators
BlockBeats also cited a Russian central bank stablecoin report. By April, it estimated that Russian residents held an average of about 720 billion rubles per month on centralized exchanges, down 23% from the prior two quarters. Russian visits to those platforms fell 32% to 56.5 million, while estimated crypto-asset flows declined 23%.
The figures are secondary data cited by BlockBeats; the flash did not specify TradingBeats’ measurement window or link to the underlying MEXC announcement and central bank report. The percentages describe traffic and estimated balances, not exchange market share or investment performance.
