a16z Crypto general partner Ali Yahya said he will leave Andreessen Horowitz and start a company focused on infrastructure for open software ecosystems, BlockBeats reported.

Yahya said the project is still at an early stage and that its initial focus is building infrastructure that can enable open software ecosystems.
The move follows a16z Crypto’s renaming to a16z Frontier and an expansion of its investment scope to frontier startups. The flash did not provide details on the new company’s funding, launch date or product.
