Hong Kong’s Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, said tokenization is moving from experimentation toward implementation, according to an Oct. 23 BlockBeats report.
HKEX plans warehouse-receipt financing pilot
Hui said HKEX aims to launch a pilot next year with designated banks, using distributed ledger technology to support commodity warehouse receipts as collateral. He also described work on a multi-asset tokenization platform that would include receipts from recognized warehouses. These initiatives remain plans and work in progress.
