Lummis says CLARITY Act includes Democrats crypto fundraising caps

Sen. Cynthia Lummis said Democratic lawmakers’ requested limits on annual and lifetime fundraising for crypto regulation were accepted and written into the CLARITY Act, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 25.

According to Lummis’s account, the annual limit was reduced from $75 million to $50 million and a $200 million lifetime cap was added. Lummis is the sponsor of the U.S. Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Act.

Partisan account of a vote

Lummis later said Democrats still voted against the rule, which she described as targeting retail-investor protection. The report provided no vote count, chamber procedure or independent confirmation of the lawmaker’s account.
