Zcash Co-Founder Proposes Ending ZCG Automatic Subsidy and Redirecting 8% to NSM

A draft ZIP from Zcash co-founder Sean Bowe would end Zcash Community Grants’ automatic block-subsidy stream and redirect the remaining 8% share to the Network Sustainability Mechanism, according to BlockBeats.

Existing ZCG assets would remain

The proposal cites ZCG holdings of about 91,452.98 ZEC, $8.80 million in dollar assets and $2.42 million in unpaid grant liabilities. It says the change would affect future subsidy allocation while leaving existing ZCG assets and rules unchanged; the Coinholder-Controlled Fund’s 12% share would also remain unaffected. The ZIP is a draft and has not been presented as an approved or activated change.
