Binance CEO Richard Teng said the platform had found no evidence of wallet private-key leakage in its investigation into the reported theft and would cover user losses through SAFU and company funds.
Investigation update
Teng said a preliminary review pointed to a possible compromise of a DevOps engineer’s laptop and unauthorized withdrawal transactions, while stressing that no individual had been assigned responsibility. Binance estimated the incident’s impact at about $6.3 billion and said roughly $3 billion had been frozen through on-chain cooperation. Deposits remained open, and the company said it would publish a technical retrospective after the investigation and remediation.
