Binance Says Customer Funds Were Unaffected in Reported $6B Hack

Binance said customer funds were unaffected after a reported hack, with the transferred assets coming from one of the exchange’s own hot wallets, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett.

Company wallet identified

Binance said most customer funds are held in cold wallets and moved to hot wallets only when users make withdrawals. A spokesperson also said most daily operating income is retained in crypto assets and reinvested in the business and security infrastructure, allowing the company to absorb the loss with its own funds.
