Ansem Says Time Belongs in Short-Term Trade Risk Management

Crypto trader Ansem said short-term traders should treat time as a risk-management variable alongside price and stop-loss levels.

Time as a trade signal

In a post on October 31, Ansem said he expects a position to show meaningful movement relatively quickly when he enters a short-term trade. If Bitcoin stays near the entry price without moving in the expected direction, he begins to reassess the setup.

Ansem said he sometimes exits because a trade is taking too long to develop even when the stop-loss has not been hit. He described the shorter timeframe as useful for recognizing earlier when a strategy is not working and said both price and elapsed time matter when deciding whether to keep a position.
