Crypto analyst Darkfost said Bitcoin’s average cost basis for short-term holders is approaching $76,000, with current prices testing their confidence, BlockBeats reported.
MVRV nears neutral
Darkfost said the short-term-holder MVRV ratio, which compares market value with realized value, was approaching the neutral level of 1. The measure had risen above 1.18 in late September, its highest level since July 2025, according to the report.
Possible holder responses
The report said short-term holders’ cost basis had climbed from about $67,500 in mid-August. Darkfost said a return to neutral MVRV could prompt holders either to keep buying or to capitulate and sell, and that it remained unclear which response would prevail.
