Binance said it has discussed with Malaysian regulators how a licensed business could be structured and is seeking a formal return to the market, BlockBeats reported, citing Bloomberg.
License remains unspecified
A Binance spokesperson said the company had communicated with Malaysia’s Securities Commission and central bank for the past 10 months. Binance did not disclose which license it might seek, and the report did not say that any approval had been granted.
Regulatory background
Malaysia’s Securities Commission determined in July 2021 that Binance was operating a digital-asset trading platform illegally and ordered it to stop local operations and marketing. BlockBeats said the regulator removed Binance from its investor-alert list in 2024 but added it again this month without giving a reason.
The discussions describe a possible compliance path, not a completed return or an approved license. Source: BlockBeats English flash, which attributes the report to Bloomberg, published October 31, 2026.
