Crypto-related organizations have contributed more than $200 million during the current U.S. election cycle as the industry backs candidates and seeks favorable digital-asset rules, BlockBeats reported, citing Public Citizen data and CNBC.
Candidate support
Fairshake and affiliated super PACs are supporting 33 House candidates: 19 Republicans and 14 Democrats. Coinbase and Ripple each gave Fairshake $25 million for its 2025 midterm efforts, according to the report. Fairshake also said it had spent $55 million opposing Democratic candidate Sherrod Brown.
Regulatory agenda
Stand With Crypto, a Coinbase-backed group, endorsed 45 candidates, including 42 House and three Senate contenders. The industry is seeking comprehensive digital-asset market-structure legislation after the Clarity Act stalled in the Senate in September.
Unresolved political debate
Democratic lawmakers argued that the bill did not sufficiently prevent senior government officials from profiting from crypto businesses. Coinbase Vice President Ryan VanGrack said the industry would likely see more regulatory clarity regardless of the election outcome, but acknowledged that completing legislation remained uncertain.
