Binance increased incentives for some market makers after the reported $6.3 billion hack, offering higher rebates in spot and futures markets, according to Bloomberg as relayed by a Nov. 3 BlockBeats report.
Short-term rebate promotion
People familiar with the matter said a one-week promotion would let Level 2 and Level 3 market makers receive the same rebate rates as Level 4 participants. The move was intended to encourage smaller liquidity providers to quote and support deeper order books.
Talos data cited in the report showed Binance Bitcoin order-book depth fell about 30% within 24 hours, with depth within 1% of the price declining from $45 million to $32 million. The figures and the rebate details were attributed to Bloomberg, people familiar with the matter and Talos data.
