Fed Holds Rates at 3.75%–4.00% in 10–2 Vote

The Federal Reserve kept its federal-funds target range at 3.75%–4.00% on October 28, approving the decision in a 10–2 vote.

Two members favored an increase

Lisa D. Cook and Beth M. Hammack dissented, preferring a quarter-percentage-point increase, according to the official FOMC statement.

The committee described economic activity as expanding at a strong pace while inflation remained elevated. It said additional information would help determine the policy stance needed to return inflation to its 2% goal.
