Shanghai Xuhui District Court sentenced a man to three years in prison, suspended for three years, and fined him ¥40,000 after he used scripts to obtain AI-platform credits and resell services, BlockBeats reported.
Account farming and API resale
The report said the man bulk-registered nearly 300,000 free accounts, used their new-user credits and connected the accounts’ image and video generation services to a relay station he built. Customers paid him while the original platform supplied the computing power.
After the platform added IP limits and electronic-signature checks, he allegedly used AI-written scripts to bypass the controls and forge API signatures. He had made more than 290,000 calls to the API and earned more than ¥34,000 by the time he was caught in March, according to the report.
Court outcome
The court convicted him of illegally obtaining computer information system data. The flash does not name the platform or provide a case number or judgment link, so the details are reported as BlockBeats’ account of the case. Source: BlockBeats English report, published Nov. 3, 2026.
