New York’s Gaming Commission has asked a state court to compel Kalshi to comply with an investigative subpoena, according to court filings cited by BlockBeats.
What the subpoena covers
The commission filed in New York County Supreme Court over a July 31 subpoena issued under Section 104(7) of the state racing law. The request covers sports-event contracts, business involving users under 21, advertising that describes products as betting, and Kalshi’s ownership and corporate structure.
Potential penalties
The commission said the inquiry would help determine whether to impose civil penalties on Kalshi or other parties and how much. Kalshi had not publicly responded at the time of the report.
