CFTC Plans Twice-Weekly Trader-Position Reports

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission plans to increase publication of its Commitments of Traders report from once a week to twice a week by the end of 2026, according to a BlockBeats report.

More frequent positioning data

The current report is released each Friday and shows commodity-market buying and selling, distinguishing hedge funds and other asset managers from commercial participants. Producers use it to help make hedging decisions, while traders and investors use it to track positioning.

CFTC Chairman Michael Selig said the higher-frequency plan came from agricultural-market participants. The report described a planned publication change and did not provide an implementation date or rule text.
