CFTC Reopens Review of Polymarket’s 2022 Settlement Compliance

Reuters, cited by BlockBeats, reported that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is again examining whether Polymarket complied with its 2022 settlement, including measures intended to prevent U.S. users from accessing the platform’s offshore site. A similar CFTC investigation ended in 2025 without charges.

Review covers platform controls

The report said the broader inquiry includes customer-location controls, U.S. advertising, past processes, U.S. platform onboarding and customer-protection measures. Polymarket has said it improved controls, including blocking VPN-based attempts to bypass geographic restrictions.

The report describes an ongoing review based on two unnamed sources. It does not establish that Polymarket violated the settlement or that regulators have brought charges. Read the English BlockBeats flash (original Chinese: BlockBeats flash).
