The Bloomberg Asian Semiconductor Index fell more than 2% to its lowest since July as investors weighed U.S. AI-infrastructure funding risks and a new DeepSeek model update, according to a report cited by BlockBeats.
Regional moves
TSMC, SK Hynix and Japan’s Advantest were among the main drags. The KOSPI fell more than 3% intraday before recovering part of the loss, while the Nikkei 225 dropped as much as 2.3% and Taiwan’s weighted index fell 2%.
Investor concerns
The report linked the pressure to doubts about U.S. AI-infrastructure financing and a DeepSeek update that claimed faster operation and lower resource use. Life Asset Management CEO Kang DaeKwun said uncertainty remained too high to identify a bottom for Korean equities.
