Robinhood Selects Dubai DIFC for MENA Headquarters, Seeks DFSA License

Robinhood has selected Dubai International Financial Centre as its Middle East and North Africa headquarters and submitted a Category 4 license application to the Dubai Financial Services Authority, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 22.

Dubai base selected

The report said the DIFC site would serve as Robinhood’s operating base for the MENA region. It described the move as a shift from an expansion intention toward implementation, but did not provide a company or regulator announcement confirming that an office has opened.

License application is pending

The DFSA application is intended to support legally offering trading services in the United Arab Emirates and, potentially, elsewhere in MENA. The report said services would be possible if the application is approved. A filing is not a license, so the current account does not establish that Robinhood can operate there or that approval has been granted.
