OpenAI signed Abu Dhabi agreements spanning energy, investment and government programs, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office and CNBC as relayed by a Nov. 2 BlockBeats report.
Deals cover operations, investing and public administration
ADNOC, G42’s Inception42 and OpenAI agreed to deploy OpenAI frontier models in ADNOC operations using inference infrastructure in the UAE. Mubadala, Inception42 and OpenAI also plan to use AI for investment analysis, opportunity identification and risk assessment.
Abu Dhabi and OpenAI launched a “Machine-Readable Government” initiative to convert some policies and regulations into machine-readable formats for routine licensing and compliance assessments. Government officials retain final decisions. Inception42 and OpenAI also signed a five-year agreement covering government, enterprise and education use in the UAE.
CNBC separately reported that OpenAI is seeking up to about $20 billion in a new funding round led jointly by UAE investors. That is a reported fundraising target, not a completed financing.
