North Korea denied involvement in the theft from Binance and called U.S. attribution “absurd rhetoric” and a political provocation, BlockBeats reported on Nov. 3, citing the Korean Central News Agency.
Attribution disputed
The report said North Korea objected to the FBI’s earlier attribution of more than $6 billion in stolen Binance assets to TraderTraitor, a hacker group the agency linked to North Korea. Those statements are presented as the respective positions reported by BlockBeats and are not independently verified in this article.
BlockBeats also said the current U.S. administration had announced plans to use confiscated stolen crypto for a national strategic reserve. The report did not establish whether the denial changes any investigation or recovery effort.
