Morgan Stanley has confirmed it is among the first banks using DTCC’s new DTS tokenization service to place U.S. stocks, ETFs and Treasuries on-chain, according to BlockBeats citing a CoinDesk post.
How DTS is described
BlockBeats said DTS launched on Oct. 28 and is operated by DTCC subsidiary Depository Trust Company. The service mints tokenized certificates against custodied securities, preserves the underlying ownership and investor protections, and allows conversion between traditional and token forms and transfers to digital wallets.
Participants and networks
The report named JPMorgan, Citi, Bank of America, Fidelity and Citadel Securities among the same batch of users. It said about 20 institutions had signed on, covering Russell 1000 constituents, major index ETFs and U.S. Treasuries, with connections to Canton and DTCC’s private Besu network and plans for more chains in 2027. Those details remain attributed to the reported announcement.
