Nvidia is discussing a potential investment of several hundred million dollars in Australian AI cloud provider Firmus, according to people familiar with the matter cited by BlockBeats. The report says Firmus withdrew its IPO plan earlier this month.
Potential deal remains unconfirmed
The discussions would extend Nvidia’s support for so-called neocloud companies that borrow to buy its GPUs and deploy them in data centers. The report does not say that an investment has closed or establish a final amount.
Separately, BlockBeats attributed an analysis to The Information saying Nvidia has committed more than $170 billion to such companies and large customers, including credit guarantees that help them obtain debt financing. That figure is broader context and is not confirmation of the Firmus talks.
