Nvidia CEO Says Telecom Towers Could Become Distributed AI Networks

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said telecom operators could provide AI computing and base stations could evolve into distributed AI networks, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 21, citing Interface News. Huang made the remarks at the GTC conference in Berlin.

Five-layer AI economy

Huang described the AI economy as five layers: energy, computing, AI factories, models and applications. BlockBeats said his presentation showed only Nvidia’s logo in the computing layer and listed Siemens Energy, Schneider Electric, Nscale, Firebird, Mistral, Legora and DeepL across other layers.

He also put the current cost of a 1-gigawatt data center at about $50 billion. These are attributed statements and an estimate; the flash did not provide a transcript or independent cost methodology.
