Democrats Could Plan New Musk Oversight Probes if They Retake House

POLITICO reported that congressional Democrats are discussing possible oversight probes of Elon Musk and his companies if they regain control of the House after the November midterm elections, BlockBeats reported on Oct. 21.

Potential areas of scrutiny

The possible scope includes SpaceX government contracts, Tesla federal subsidies, Musk’s conduct while leading the Department of Government Efficiency, government-fund use, potential conflicts of interest, sensitive-data access and SpaceX military satellite communications for Ukraine.

A spokesperson for House Oversight Committee Democrat Robert Garcia said Democrats had many questions about Musk’s DOGE activities and planned an investigation. Musk’s spokesperson did not respond to repeated POLITICO requests for comment. The probes remain at the planning and discussion stage and depend on the post-election balance of power.
