Morgan Stanley raises U.S. data-center power-gap forecast to 38 GW

Morgan Stanley raised its estimate of the U.S. data-center net power gap for 2026–2028 to 38 gigawatts from 33 GW, BlockBeats reported. The bank said power constraints could affect the relative share of ASICs and GPUs.

Morgan Stanley continued to favor Nvidia and Broadcom, citing shipment visibility, expansion outside the United States and Nvidia’s higher token output per watt. It said data-center capital-spending expectations must be matched against actual power supply.

The bank also warned that a pause or slowdown in data-center construction could expose downstream components to over-ordering risk.
