Decision Desk HQ projected Democrat Adam Hamilton to flip a U.S. Senate seat in Kansas, a result that would give Democrats five flipped seats in the election, according to BlockBeats.
Kansas projection
BlockBeats said Hamilton drew on voter dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump’s tariff policies and resentment over higher fuel prices linked in the report to the Iran war. With 84% of ballots counted, Hamilton led Republican Senator Roger Marshall 53% to 44%. DDHQ declared Hamilton the winner, while television networks had not yet made a uniform projection.
Senate math
The report said Democrats had flipped seats in North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Kansas and South Carolina. Democrats had initially needed a net gain of four seats to control the Senate, provided they did not lose existing seats elsewhere.
